Hands down, Blackjack is the most popular and best known table game at Hollywood Casino. And there's plenty of action and excitement to go around. The object of Blackjack is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer, you win. Draw an Ace with a 10 or picture card and you have Blackjack.
Blackjack Rules and Information
Blackjack, also known as "21", is perhaps Hollywood Casino Aurora's most popular game. You have Blackjack when your first two cards are an Ace and a 10-value card. (This pays 3 to 2.) Otherwise, the object of the game is for the player to beat the dealer's hand by reaching a total as close to 21 as possible without going over 21 (busting). Players also win if their hand total is 21 or less and the dealer busts. Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings have a value of 10. Aces have a value of one or 11. If the dealer's total is 16 or less, the dealer will take "hits" (additional cards) until his or her cards total at least 17. If you and the dealer tie, it's a "push," and you don't win or lose. On the blackjack tables on the main casino floor, the dealer must hit on a soft 17.
Casino Surrender Automatic Win:
Here's How You Win! If the dealer's up card is a 10 or a face card and does not have Blackjack, a player dealt a two-card 20 has the option to take the "automatic win." The player keeps the original bet and "automatically wins" half the amount of the original bet! Normal Blackjack rules apply.
Other rules to know:
Double Down: You can double down on any two cards except for Blackjack. This is done by placing an additional wager (up to the total amount of your initial bet) next to your original bet. You will receive only one additional card.
Splitting: If your first two cards are a pair, you may split them into two hands by placing an equal amount next to your original bet. If the next card makes a pair, you may split again, for a total of three hands. Split Aces get only a one-card draw. A 10-value card on a split Ace counts as 21, but not Blackjack.
Insurance: If the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, you can make an additional wager that the dealer has Blackjack. Insurance bets are made by placing up to half your original bet on the insurance line, prior to the dealer checking his or her facedown card. If the dealer has Blackjack, your insurance bet pays 2 to 1.
